can you see the stars twinkling at night? the spark of light that flickers. on and off.
have you seen a shooting star trailing a tail of blinding white across the sky? for a split second, so beautiful in its dying glory, it leaves you speechless and staring after it's long gone.
do you ever wonder where they go, these fallen stars, that were so near yet so far away. once, a burning mass of energy, of light. now, that perhaps their death occurs years ago, before the light reaches our earth. that we are, when looking at those stars, essentially seeing the past.

A meteor is a meteoroid that has entered the Earth's atmosphere, usually making a fiery trail as it falls. It is sometimes called a shooting star or a falling star. The friction between the fast-moving meteor and the gas in the Earth's atmosphere causes intense heat; the meteor glows with heat and then burns.
